Melamine laminated tubes and ceramic tubes are the mainstream choices for fuse arc quenching. Both withstand arc heat, but they differ clearly in engineering and assembly terms.
1. Mechanics: Ceramics are hard but brittle and prone to chipping under assembly vibration; melamine laminates are glass-fiber reinforced — strong, tough and vibration-proof for automotive duty.
2. Machining & tolerance: Laminates are precision machinable with easy ID/OD tolerance control and high assembly yield; ceramics are hard to machine and costly in complex shapes.
3. Heat & flame: Both endure instantaneous arc heat; melamine tubes serve around 150–180℃ long-term with UL94-V0 and stable insulation in humid conditions — fit for outdoor and vehicle environments.
For scenarios demanding assembly yield, vibration endurance and customization, melamine laminates are the safer choice. Contact us for sample comparison testing.
